Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy

We missed last week and last last week's mass. (Which was really, really bad). We have no excuse, just that we totally forgot it was a Sunday (On both occasions, if I remember it correctly).

This week we went to church at the newly built church on Loyola Heights.
Usually, we'd go to the UP chapel for mass.

Ozzie and I were late so we stood outside of the church, just beside Caww. Halfway through the mass, Caww alarmed loudly when we accidentally hit her*.
Since the church was kind of open, I think the alarm reverberated quite loudly inside the church. It was kind of embarassing.

It was a pretty church, just as I imagined it to be, based on Ozzie's pictures of course. The church on Loyola Heights somehow resembles the Caleruega Church.

It's good that there's a church on Loyola Heights. Since the mass there is every 30-ish(5:30pm, 6:30pm, etc), and the mass at UP is at every hour (5pm, 6pm, etc), there's little excuse to be late for our Sunday mass.

*because she's such a girly caww. :D

Bleach

For the past few days, there hasn't been anything to watch since most of our favorite shows skipped a week or two.
Below are our favorite shows and the showing of their next episodes:
  • House: February 7, 2006
  • Desperate Housewives: January 22, 2006
  • Grey's Anatomy: January 22, 2006
  • Drawn Together: January 25, 2006
  • My Name is Earl: January 26, 2006
  • Nip/Tuck: next season unkown
  • Numb3rs: We got bored. It lost it's geeky touch
That left us with nothing to watch last week.

Good thing Ozzie copied an anime series from Dan, entitled "Bleach"*. I was never really a fan of anime, but I tried to watch it and got addicted with this one. The only animes I have watched were "Sailor Moon" (when I was in gradeschool) and "Golden Boy" (figure out why).

The story is ok. I just don't see why they have to hurt a lot of people to save a girl from death-row who broke the law in the first place.

The anime always leaves the watcher hanging. That's why I got hooked. It always makes me want to watch the next episode (hence, our Bleach marathon). I think it's like that for most animes, but I'm not sure since I've only watched a few.

Our favorite character is Kon, the cute stuffed toy on the left.

The anime is still ongoing. We will definitely add this to our weekly shows, although I'm pretty sure it will annoy me since this anime loves cliffhangers.

*I still don't know why this anime is entitled Bleach. Is it the because of the color of Ichigo's hair?

++ctr;

I recently added a counter at the side. It's not reliable. Refresh like crazy and it will increment every refresh.

I added that because I saw an ad(sense) on Joe-e's blog and I wanted to help make him rich so I clicked on all the ads.

Make like Ozzie...

Can you decipher the message in the picture below?

This was forwarded to me by a friend and his instructions were:
If you cannot decipher anything, then try pulling the corner of your eyes as if you were Chinese.

Apparently, I have bad eyes since I had a hard time deciphering the message.

Hmmm... then does that mean Ozzie gets a lot?
From Mary Palmer, I presume. Hahaha!

Update:
Apparently, Ozzie saw the message the instant he saw the picture.
Hmmmmm.....

Was this designed after my Ozzie?

Doesn't look a bit like my Ozzie, but check out what's so special about this bear.

Love, Comedy and a dash of tragedy

Ozzie and I watched the Family Stone at Gateway after going to the ecopark.

The movie is about a guy named Everett (Dermot Mulroney) who brings home his girlfriend Meredith (Sarah Jessica Parker) to meet his family. The family members have such distinct personalities, but they have one thing in common: they don't like the girlfriend. The girlfriend is devastated, so she asks her sister to join her. The next scenes... are highly predictable.

The movie is forseeable, but somehow still enjoyable. It has mixed reviews, some like it, but some hate it.

There were *scratch head* moments, but are forgivable.

The trailers are misleading, as they depict that the movie is just another Christmas comedy movie. Somehow it's also a bit heart-warming with a touch of that Christmassy feel.

*the tragedy part is a spoiler. Oh, wait. I forgot... the movie is entirely predictable. The mom has cancer.

Greener Pastures in QC

The La Mesa Ecopark, located in Fairview, provides a quick getaway for those who want a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Once you get to the entrance of the ecopark, it will seem that you are no longer in Metro Manila. The general area outside the ecopark reminds me of Mt. Makiling.

An entrance fee of P40 was due, probably for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the area. One can engage in various activities such as cycling, trekking(not much to trek though), fishing (there's a small fish pond), swimming (there are 2 swimming pools, but requires an additional fee of P60),
picnicking and boating. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go boating because it was on the other side of the road, apparently. We didn't have a chance to go there (Mainly because we didn't know we could even enter that part).

Ozzie and I went inside the ecopark to take some pictures.
Pictures taken were mostly of plants and flowers. Artsy-fartsy shots, as we call it. I borrowed Ozzie's Canon 350D for a few shots. He taught me a few tips. :) Thank you.

The park provides a nice and convenient place wherein families and friends could get together. A great place for people who would love to get away, but do not have the time to get out of Manila.

The perfect gift

Thank you for the time and effort you took on looking for the same watch I lost in Bohol. I really loved that watch. It took me days and several malls to find that particular watch in the U.S. I love the watch you gave me, it's almost the same as my old one, but better.

Thank you for the out of the country and out of town trips we'll be spending with each other. I can't wait.

Those gifts though, are really not necessary. You've asked me numerous times what I wanted for Christmas. Nothing really, I thought.

However, in the past, I have asked something from you countless times already. During the occasions I didn't ask you to give me one, for sure I was hoping to get one. It's what I really wanted, but it never crossed my mind again since the time I stopped wishing for it, about 2 years ago.

A card, love letter, sweet nothings - whatever you want to call it. It's what I've always wanted. After five years of silently wishing for it, I finally have one. Tears rolled my eyes as I was reading the card. You saw me. You gave me one when I least expected it... when I stopped wishing for it because I've lost hope that I'd ever receive one.

Really, thank you. It's what I've always wanted.
